Well it has been talked about for a year since the cancellation on the GC Drag heads up racing at Carolina Dragway. After many requests, In 2009, Jeff & Angel have decided to bring back heads up racing in a little different way. During all Saturday bracket races 7.00 & 6.40 will be contested on a trial basis. This has definitely left a void in some racers minds because the love of heads up racing in the south is huge.
If the classes draw enough cars to make a great showing then it is possible for Sunday racing to be added at a later date also.
Entry fee will be $50 with one round buyback of $25 added to the mix. All the money will go into the pot with 80% being paid back to the racers. 20% is being kept in order to help offset the cost of trophies and staff expenses.
All IHRA rules will be in place with the exception of no weight limits and nitrous is allowed.
For all the die hard bracket racers a Sweet 16 race will still be contested if the time allows.
